Barak, Don’t Fumble the Moral Football!!!

You know I’m down for making a historic move for 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., but I don’t want my guy losing the keys to the door over an issue and a demographic that will prove to be a campaign killer. No, I haven’t given my endorsement too soon but I do need to give some corrective suggestions to my candidate before his campaign really falters. As critical as I’ve been of the Black Establishment not supporting you Barak, there may be one reason that’s really holding them back that hasn’t been expressed too loudly – YET.

Barak, you’re going to lose the Black vote, the biggest swing vote, along with the general Christian swing vote if you continue on this gay rights representation kick. How can I put this? We don’t swing that way. Black people love Donnie McClurkin and Christians love the fact that he not only confessed to a sinful lifestyle but actually changed it. He is what you’re supposed to be – a change agent. Don’t fall for the tricks of political correctness Senator Obama or you can just pack your bags and go home because you don’t have a snowball’s chance pursuing this track.

Don’t cave in to the homosexual, “We’re like everybody else”, movement. Crapola my friend and you made a major slip up adding the gay minister to the gospel lineup in your recent South Carolina program. There was nothing Biblical about it Barak. In fact the mere phrase “homosexual minister” is antiscriptural. Since you’ve been getting your spiritual advice from politicos instead of the “called out of the faith” let me share what the Bible actually says on the matter just so you don’t think it’s my personal politically incorrect opinion. I don’t want you to loose your character perception over a group of people who aren’t worth the trouble to you in moral or practical terms.

For my readers and your supporters here are the basics on the subject. References from Old and New Testaments reinforce each other. Six key scriptures are Leviticus 18, Leviticus 20, Deuteronomy 22, Colossians 3:5-7, Romans 1: 24-32 and I Corinthians 6:9, 12-20.

The country doesn’t want or need its moral standards or family definitions redefined. It will destroy us. It is already destroying thousands of children by the day. It’s playing on their young minds in the wrong way. Instead of having the Adam and Eve standard that God himself initiated, it’s the Adam and Steve & Eve and Eva playing house modus operandi that’s being forced upon us. Kids have to live in these situations and see it on T.V. practically everywhere without warning. Its corruptible and despicable.

Senator, do you not see the backwards type of degenerate behavior you are encouraging by falling for this as some false sense of “rights” instead of insisting on what is actually “right”? Don’t finish us off Senator. I’m still stumping for you but I’m counterpunching at the same time to convince you to change your position on this one. You have no chance at the brass ring if you don’t.

    Marty,

what happened to “judge not, lest ye be judged”? i think that phrase is tucked nicely somewhere in your Bible.

i’m sure that each candidate is surrounded by sinners, i would bet that each and everyone of the candidates is a sinner. i’m sure the Bible says a thing or two about that, as well.

the people who fall for this “homosexual end game” as an “excuse” not to support a candidate are looking for a reason to not support a candidate. sexual preference, like religious preference, is not a “moral football” to be thrown around or toyed with… it is more than likely a very personal decision that is ill-served when thrust into the political discussion.

please consider Barack Obama for the change and hope that he will bring to this country… and not for the divisive and petty things that he cannot control.

Hey Plez, good to hear from you. Judgement man-to-man here in the physical realm is actually a very relevant matter. That verse doesn’t mean never judge, it simply means be on solid ground when you do so. Check out Matthew 7:1-6.

Yes, we are all sinners, trying to do better and the candidates are no different as you said. The key though is the doing better part. True, God sees all sin the same way. But the practical consequences of different sins have very different outcomes for us in the human realm. That’s why some things are more heavily emphasized than others.

It’s not a matter of judgement, it’s about correction and consequences, clearly outlined as moral standards. Read those scriptures closely, just as starter references, and it stares you right in the face.

You know, people very often like to throw around the “judgement” phrase as an excuse to condone their wrong doing. You can’t do that and have a stable society and the traditionally defined family is that foundation. The attempted maintstreaming of the homosexual agenda – yes Plez, there is one – runs counter to that. It is an excuse bro’, it’s not legit.

And, don’t fall for the individual choice argument either man. It’s much deeper than that and the impact on society itself is significant. True, this is only one of many screwed up social ills that harm us as a nation but the potential repercusions of this subject are more significant than some of those other situations. Again, it’s not about judgement. It’s about moral fiber and character – not perfection – and standards that have stood the test of time.

To deviate from those things in such intentional fashion will be to our detriment. The character of a person is a definite indicator of how they will lead so everything he says and does while in the limelight matters.

I think we’re on the same page about change and hope that only Barak can bring about. However, he can control what he supports and who he allows into the campaign stable and that was the gist of the strong emphasis I put on the subject in the post.

I’m glad I came accross your blog by the way and I will be a regular reader. I hope you’ll do the same and we can continue the flow in both directions.

    Marty,

i try to stay away from religion because of its potential volatility (some people have such strong feelings about religion, which they’ve been a part of their entire lives).

on my blog, i posted about the Governor of Georgia’s prayer vigil for rain (and it did rain alittle last night) and then i came to your site and just had to comment on this subject. i don’t know what i was thinking, but i’m going to leave it alone!

since i don’t subscribe to a lot of the religious dogma, i should’ve left BOTH of those topics alone! *smile* but as i said, i love a nice discussion and i will have to agree to disagree with you on this one.

take care… and i’ll definitely be back on a regular basis.

    Hey, Marty:

Interesting post. Like you, I understand the significance of Mr. Obama’s legitemate run for the highest office in the land. But i’m not sure I subscribe to the religious take on homosexuals. Nonetheless, I like your blog and intend to come back again. Be well. mac
